Shade/Shutter/Shade
Here are two examples of combining shades & shutters for room darkening.
#1 is a theater room where total blackout was required. The white shutter was concealed behind the shade for consistence from the street. The shutter was still functional for times when light/view were desired.
#2 is where SilverScreen was used behind a shutter to reflect the heat and make the room more comfortable & energy efficient.
Note: Dark stained shutters darken a room much better than white shutters (or any window covering)
Note: we occasionally put a room darkening fabric behind a shutter in a theater room for the ultimate darkening. It's a simple and economical way to darken the room.
Note: Dark stained shutters darken the room better than light colored painted shutters.
